CATEGORY –1

I.	Name of Post	:	SCIENTIFIC OFFICER/C ( SOFTWARE ) for HWP ( Manuguru ).
2.	Number of post	:	One (Reserved for ST)
3.	QUALIFICATION	:	B.E. (Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology ) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks. A good knowledge of Oracle 8i/9i/1g and Developer 2000 / 6i is essential. Candidates having additional qualification covered by certificates like MCSD, OCP or equivalent will be preferred. Knowledge of Java will be an added advantage.
4.	Note	:	Please note that in cases where Universities award letter grades, the same will have to be indicated as equivalent percentage of marks as per the norms adopted by that University. In the absence of the same the candidature will not be considered.
5.	EXPERIENCE	:	The candidate should preferably have 1-2 years of experience in development, testing, implementation and customization of application software. Knowledge of some other RDBMS, software packages and/or programming languages will be an added advantage. A good knowledge about IT Security is desirable.

CATEGORY – 2

3.	Qualification	:	B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with minimum 60% Marks from any recognised University.
4.	Age limits	:	Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years. (As on 01.01.2008).

CATEGORY – 3

I.	Name of Post	:	SCIENTIFIC OFFICER/C (MECHANICAL) for HWP (Talcher )
2.	Number of post	:	One (Reserved for Candidates with Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy)
3.	Qualification	:	B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% Marks from any recognised University.
4.	Age limits	:	Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years. (As on 01.01.2008).

CATEGORY – 4

I.	Name of Post	:	SCIENTIFIC OFFICER/C (ELECTRICAL) for HWP ( Manuguru )
2.	Number of post	:	One ( Reserved for candidates with Hearing Impairment )
3.	Qualification	:	B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% Marks from any recognised University.
4.	Age limits	:	Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years. (As on 01.01.2008).

CATEGORY –5

I.	Name of Post	:	DEPUTY CHIEF FIRE OFFICER/A for Heavy Water Plant ( Baroda / Tuticorin)
2.	Number of post	:	Two (Unreserved)
3.	(A) QUALIFICATION	:	a) i. Passed SSC or equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry plus passed the Divisional Officer's Course from the National Fire Service College. OR Graduate/Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, India/ London. OR ii. B.E. in Fire Engineering. b) Should possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License and must be fully conversant with the operation and maintenance of fire engines, fire pumps and other fire fighting equipments.
	(B) Experience	:	Minimum experience of 6 years in a post not below the rank of Station Officer in a well established whole time fire services organisation is essential. In the case of candidates having BE in Fire Engineering, 02 years experience in a post not below the rank of Station Officer is essential.
	Note	:	The number of years of relevant experience stipulated should be after obtaining the requisite qualification i.e. Divisional Officer's Course or Graduate/Associate Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, India / London".
4.	Age limits	:	Upper age limit is 40 Years (As on 01.01.2008)

CATEGORY – 6

I.	Name of Post	:	STATION OFFICER/A for Heavy Water Plant ( Manuguru )
2.	Number of post	:	One (SC)
3.	(A) QUALIFICATION	:	Passed SSC or equivalent and Certificate of Station Officer’s course from the National Fire Service College. OR Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineering, India/London. Candidates who have passed B.E. (Fire Engineering) and having valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence are also eligible to apply and in their case experience is not essential.
	(B) Experience	:	Minimum experience of 5 years in a post not below the rank of Sub-Officer in a well established whole time fire services organisation is essential.
	Note	:	The number of years of relevant experience stipulated should be after obtaining the requisite qualification i.e. Station Officer’s course or Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineering, India/London.
			Should possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence and be fully conversant with the operation and maintenance of Fire Engines, Fire Pumps and other Fire Fighting Equipments.
4.	Age limits	:	Upper age limit is 40 Years (As on 01.01.2008)

CATEGORY – 7

I.	Name of Post	:	STENOGRAPHER GRADE II
2.	Number of post	:	02 (UR), HWB, Mumbai 02 (UR), HWP (Kota), Rajasthan 01 (UR), HWP (Baroda), Gujarat (Reserved for Candidates with Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy) 01 (UR), DCS&EM, Mumbai 07 (01-SC, 01-ST, 02-OBC & 03-UR), DPS, Mumbai
3.	Qualification	:	i) Matriculation or equivalent ii) Minimum speed of 100 wpm in English Shorthand and 45 wpm in English Typewriting.
4.	Desirable	:	i) Knowledge in Hindi Stenography / Hindi Typing. ii) Knowledge of Computer Application, Data Entry & Data Processing
5.	Age limits	:	Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years (As on 01.01.2008).
6.	Mode of Selection	:	Selection will be made on the basis of initial screening and then qualifying in Written Examination, Stenography Test / Typing Test (on Computer) in English and Interview, which will be held in Mumbai.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1.	SCALE OF PAY	:	For CATEGORY No. 01 TO 05 : Rs. 8000-275-13500
			For CATEGORY No. 06 : Rs. 7450-225-11500
			For CATEGORY No. 07 : Rs. 5000-150-8000
			(Plus allowances admissible under Central Government Rules.)

2.	PHYSICAL STANDARDS	:	Applicable to CATEGORY 05 & 06
	No deformity.
	Height	:	165 cms (Minimum)
	Weight	:	50 kgs (Minimum)
	Chest	:	81 cms (normal) & 86 cms (expansion)
	Vision	:	6/6 - without wearing glasses or any other aid. Night or colour blindness shall be a disqualification.

Appointment of selected candidates of above Category 05 & 06 will be subject to their physical assessment, command test and medical fitness including the soundness of ear drums. Those who do not have the above physical standards and those who have perforated ear drums need not apply. Candidates who are not meeting the above physical standards will not be interviewed.

3.	AGE RELAXATION	:	Relaxation upto 5 years against reserved posts for SC/ST. Relaxation upto 3 years against reserved posts for OBC. Reservation for Ex-servicemen will be provided as per rules. Applicable to CATEGORY 02 to 04 & 07. Necessary age relaxation as admissible under rules will be extended to persons with physical disabilities. (The candidates applying against the reserved vacancies with Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy should have a minimum of 40 percent disability (moderate) certified by the appropriate Medical Board). Applicable to CATEGORY 05 & 06 Relaxation in upper age limit will be allowed in the case of candidates with longer experience and outstanding merit. Each case for relaxation in upper age limit will be examined on the merits of the case. Applicable to CATEGORY 07 : Departmental candidates who have rendered not less than 03 years continuous and regular services in the same line or allied cadre as on 01.01.2008 are eligible for relaxation in upper age limit as per Government orders.

4.	The nature of duties to be performed by the above categories may involve working in round the clock shift duties, in operational plants and areas located at various parts of the country.

5.	Candidates selected against this advertisement are likely to be posted at any of the Heavy Water Board / Plants, but are also liable to serve in any part of India and in any constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy as may be required in public interest.

6.	The candidates appointed will be governed by New Contributory Pension Scheme effective from 01.01.2004.

7.	Candidates responding against Category 05 & 06, if having driving licence other than the Category of “ Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence” have to produce equivalent to Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence from the Licence Issuing Authority / Notification of Appropriate Authority.

8.	(APPLICABLE TO CATEGORY NO. 01 – 06 ) : The Outstation Candidates called for interview will be eligible for to and fro rail fare for IInd Class or actual fare (GENERAL CLASS) by the shortest route whichever is less, subject to the production of tickets / ticket numbers etc. However, Traveling Allowance is not admissible to those SC/ST candidates who are already in Central/State Government services, Central/State Government Corporation, Public Undertakings, Local Government Institutions and Panchayats. 9.	While all candidates irrespective of community/group will be considered against UR vacancies, against community/group quota vacancies only candidates belonging to that community /group will be considered. For this purpose, SC/ST/OBC candidates should furnish Caste Certificate from Competent Authorities. In case of OBC, the certificate should specially indicate that the candidate does not belong to the persons/sections (creamy layer) mentioned in Col.3 of the Schedule of the Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training OM No.36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res.) dated 9.3.2004 and the certificate should be in the prescribed form circulated by Ministry of Personal and Training, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India. The candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC should clearly indicate the same in the application (even when applying for UR vacancy) and should attach proof of the same in the specified format failing which they will be treated as unreserved and subsequently representations for change of community status will not be entertained.

10.	The vacancies shown above are provisional and liable to vary. In case the vacancy position for any category is reduced or even made nil, HWB is not liable to compensate the applicant for consequential damage/loss.

11.	In case the response is more, the screening will be restricted to those with higher percentage of marks.

12.	Before applying for the post, the candidates should ensure that s/he fulfill all the eligibility norms. The candidates should have the requisite Educational/Technical qualifications from recognized University/Institute as on the date of submission of the application and should enclose with their application attested copies, certificates, marksheets in support of having the requisite qualification.

13.	Application which is illegible, incomplete, unsigned, not in prescribed format, without photo of candidate, not having attested xerox copy of certificates is liable to be rejected. If the post applied for is not indicated on the top of the envelope & the application, the same will not be entertained.

HOW TO APPLY

Application should be made on good quality white A-4 size plain paper and should be in conformity with the format prescribed in proforma given overleaf. Candidates are advised to ensure that the application is legible, preferably typed in English or Hindi only.
The Candidate’s Name, Address with Pin Code, Date of Birth should be written legibly in English in bold capital letters, even if a Candidate fills-in application form in Hindi.

PHOTOGRAPH: A recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the right hand top corner of the application. One additional copy of passport size photograph should also be sent along with the application.
ATTESTED COPIES OF CERTIFICATES OF
1. Educational / Technical qualification (supported by appropriate marksheets indicating the subject offered at the examinations).
2. Date of birth proof.
3. Experience Certificates specifically stating the kind of work done should accompany the application.
4. iv) Certificates issued by the Competent Authority regarding their claim that they belong to SC, ST or OBC [i) Non-Creamy Layer ii) Validity certificate should have been issued within 3 years] in the prescribed proforma.
5. Certificate from appropriate authority regarding physical disability (applicable to physically disabled persons only).
6. Discharge from Defence Service (applicable to ex-defence personnel only).
